Baby Alpaca Silk DK is one of our most luxurious yarns.
It is incredibly warm, lightweight and strong.
It has hypoallergenic properties, and it contains no lanolin, which makes the fibre safe to wear if you have skin allergies.
Baby Alpaca is said to be three times warmer than sheep wool, the fibres have excellent insulation properties whilst remaining light and breathable.
The silk gives it a shiny smooth lustre which feels soft and luxurious to work with.
We recommend using acid or natural dyes to create bright and vibrant colours, however, the colour of the yarn is a bright natural white so pastel and lighter shades also work well.
